We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of one of our own; Steve Murray, over the weekend.
Murks was Ingleton football club. He was involved in every aspect over many many years; from playing, to coaching, to being Chairman, moving on to being an avid supporter and a permanent fixture on a Matchday in between many other roles. His support was unwaivering, his smile and humour was infectious and his love for this club was clear...a feeling very much reciprocated by all of us towards this top man. Even through the tough times, both for the club and for himself personally; his personality shone through stronger and his memory will continue to shine bright.
The whole club would like to extend our love and best wishes to Annette, Dec, Callan and all their families at this time. Both teams will be paying their respects by holding a minute silence before their games this weekend and we would love as many of you there as possible to join us in paying our respects to Steve and showing our support to his family.
Murks will be so sadly missed by everyone. He gathered so many friends at IFC and he has left a legacy that will never be forgotten by all those that had the privilege of sharing a changing room, a pitch side, a meeting, a Sportsman's dinner, a bar or just a laugh and a drink with him.
Rest in Peace Murks
